Amanole Getaneh, a sophomore member of Project Greer Street at East High School in Denver, has been selected from a national pool of candidates for the elite Santa Clara University Engineering Program. The program is for high school sophomores and juniors interested in the field of engineering. The small cohort of participating students will explore the many possibilities of engineering as a career and attend special workshops and complete their own engineering projects. The introductory level workshops cover several disciplines of engineering including Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Project Greer Street is a ground-breaking and award-winning educational enrichment program for African American males launched by Ronald Sally, a graduate of Duke University and the UCLA School of Law. “During such a challenging year with the pandemic, this is very impressive and we are very proud of Amanole,” said Sally.
